A busy neighbourhood restaurant, is a reliable indicator of loyal customers and consistent standards. This proved to be the case at Vans in Cottesloe. My semi hungry partner instantly became ravenous when he ordered the Prawns with Pumpkin and Olives. Far from tasteless farmed prawns, these were sweet and perfectly matched with the pumpkin salad and dressing. My Lamb with Goats Cheese Mash and Italian Coleslaw was cooked well, with a pink inner and almost charred nutty crust. Innovative but comfy. The food and service was casual while at the same time deliberate.
