I t was a Saturday night and we were lucky to get a last minute booking at Trigg Island Cafe. The booking was quite early, but the place was still buzzing with patrons. We were only there to have a quick meal and then go out. We ordered Snapper Seychelles, and the Calamari. The food arrived in amazing time, I was quite shocked with the speed. The Snapper Seychelles comes smothered in mussels and a creamy cheesy sauce that is delicious. The snapper was lightly pan fried, the texture was soft and the flesh juicy. The calamari came with basil & sun dried tomato pesto, on a bed of rice. If you ask some people they would tell you it is the best squid in town, and I would probably not disagree. The Calamari was an entree serve, but would be generous enough to satisfy most female guests. Both dishes were excellent and cooked to perfection. The Snapper is served with a side of chips or a baked potato. I selected the chips, and couldn’t even finish them. There was absolutely nothing to complain about during the night, almost a perfect dining experience. This is definitely a place I should try to get to more often. If you are planning to eat here, be sure to book a couple of days in advance, as it gets quite busy.

A group of friends and I, all armed with babies ranging from 5 months to 7 months decided to try the cafe for the first time. We went for breakfast during the week and found it to be a fantastic culinary experience. The staff were wonderful. They provided adequate space for us and our prams and were friendly and very helpful. The food was excellent. Decent sized portions and speedy service and the prices were reasonable. The coffee was wonderful and hot. And of course the view is lovely. I look forward in going back to enjoy breakfast once again.
