ocated right on Port Beach, there are 2 sections to Oyster Bar on the Beach - Bar/Cafe and Restaurant. After attending the New Year's Eve gig there, we decided to have a Sunday get together at the Bar/Cafe. The atmosphere was perfect. Great summer day, in front of the beach, under a large canopy, with Balinese style huts (offering massage!!) and fantasic music!
The cocktails were fantastic and the bar staff were very friendly and helpful. The food choice was good, but it looked better than it tasted unfortunately. We had the Chicken Burger and it was very dry. But the oysters made up for it all. They were so fresh and the different variations were great.
Ultimately, a great place for a casual lunch / dinner with friends and family. Fantastic place to chill out.

Monday 19/4/04 we had a group turn up at the Beach bar which was closed due to the cool weather. However, the manager opened it up for us and set up the sound system to allow us to play our Latino music so we could dance away in the evening. He offerred us a great deal with delicious platters of food for the group which made it a great evening in a beautiful setting. He liked our dancing so much he has invited us to come again and we will, on Sunday 8th May 6.00pm. It is no doubt the best place for chilling out with Latin dancing! Thanks for the unexpected hospitality Luke.

Saturday 15/05/04 myself and 3 friends went to the oyster bar for dinner. We immediately found the staff to be very forced in their service and the head waiter to be incredibly arrogant. We waited about half an hour before our entree and after which our main arrived an hour later. My friend had the Chicken, simply grilled and it was cold. When we went to pay we found out that all items on the menu are GST exclusive, including wine and cocktails. So on top of poor service and mediocre food, we paid 10% on each and every item. Very disapointed. I would give this restaurant 3/10.
