Perth Food Review

W e had heard great things about this restaurant so made a point of visiting during our Easter weekend break.

Though Food Farmacy looks like a casual cafe (albeit a smart one), its food far exceeds what we assumed would be a fairly simple meal.

Each course was well thought out and beautifully constructed, with enough choice to accommodate everyone, and serving sizes are very generous (each of us ate three courses and almost rolled out of the restaurant!).

Our waitstaff were interested in what they were serving and well briefed on the menu (something of a rarity these days), and suggested particular dishes and drinks without being pushy. We did take up offers of certain cocktails suggested to complement our food and were impressed with the results.

Dishes of note for us were the scallops done 7 ways - a gorgeous entree dish of little tastes, each utterly different but complementary, the beef fillet with kipfler potatoes (sounds boring but was excellent) and 'corned' lamb with mustard soup and vegies. The lemon tart with a sharp raspberry sorbet was enormous enough for two and probably the best example of a lemon tart I've had in quite a while.

Prices are around $20-25 for entrees and $30-35 for mains, which may seem expensive for some, but the food and exceptional service really make this a memorable place to go for the occasional 'Down South splash-out' meal. Our only small gripe, as mentioned earlier, was that the style of food and service was let down a bit by the casual feel of the place.

Overall, highly recommended and we will be returning.
