o n Saturday 29 August 2009, My friend and i had cravings for jap food. We browsed the Perth Entertainment booklet looking for vouchers for Jap restaurants in the cafe and bistro dining. We came across this coupon promising 25% off our bill and we made reservations without hesitation.

When we arrived at the restaurant there was a handwritten sign that informed patrons that Tamashi had just changed management and that entertainment book vouchers are not accepted. At that moment we wanted to leave immediately and felt deceived. howeverr we decided to honour our reservation.

We ordered karraage set cost about $13.50 and she ordered Tempura set $18.50 and for appetizer i ordered Sashimi Salmon.

we were served by this waitress Usually before meals i like to wash my hands so i asked her where the toilet is and she gave me a stare like it's so wrong to use the toilet and asked me very rudely "are you really busting?" i was like wtf man. i wanted to wash my hands before i eat duh so she told me the toilet was behind the restaurant and to access it i had to exit the restaurant.

anyway the sashimi arrived first and the fish meat looked so pale and unpresentable. i put the first piece in my mouth and could bite all the ice crystals. it seems like it was frozen and then thawed. the fish was also very wet due to the melting of the ice during thaw. out of the 8 pieces i ate only 4. and informed the waitress that the fish tasted horrible and the texture is so wrong.

She gave me a fierce and promised not to charge me for it. and she took it away, she informed her boss about it and the cook came out to apologize saying that all restaurants in WA get their fish frozen from norway and that they have thaw it first before serving WHAT BULLSHIT.

anyway he say he will try harder seeing that he was very sincere i accepted him to serve anotehr plate to make up for the first round. this time another four pieces of salmon was served but it was more icy then the first. and the texture of the fish was damaged by being frozen for so long it was mushy unlike the firm fresh if you had eaten real fresh sashimi. i give up complaininign at this point since probably the entire stock of fish they had was frozen.

by this time it was already 8pm and we waitied one full hour from the time of our order for them to serve our main. the fried chicken was served with some mayo mixed with tabasco sause the meat was hard like rocks and the tempura batter was thick like doughnuts

in the end paid the bill and left

will not ever go there again

Always nice to see a new reviewer on the site! Dont think i will be trying this place for Good! First of all its a shame that the new owners didnt honour there agreement of the Entertainment book as its for charity, next is no toilets on site and the rest is the frozen fish expored from thailand?

Sounds horrible, sashimi is one of those things that I don't order unless I know the place well, or if it comes highly recommended from a trusted source/friend. The last thing you want is to end up with a bad case of the squigglies.

When it comes to the Entertainment book I don't think all parties play by the rules. They probably use it for marketing purposes then skew their menu so as to not lose profit? Who knows.

If you like Jap food I always recommend Fuji on Albany Hwy, their food is always fresh at reasonable prices.

My partner and i go there several times a week, they are by far the best Japanese food place we have tried and believe me we have been to many.

our usual is chicken karrage bento sets and the variety and quality of the food is amazing.

we usually dont dine in tho so we dont need the place to have a bathroom.

The pricing is good and we will continue to go there and enjoy their food :)
