e had a craving for Indian so decided to try Spicy South for dinner. We arrived early so had no problems getting a table without a booking and were seated quickly.
The service was excellent, it's not a big place (perhaps 40 seats) so one hard working waitress was taking care of everyone.
We ordered the Lamb Palak (lamb with spinach), Chicken Tikka, Pilau Rice and Plain Dosa (which was served with Dahl and coconut chutney - coconut chutney was to die for). The Dosa was a fantastic accompaniment to the curry, it’s a giant pancake style unleavened bread which added some crunch to the meal. All the food was superb, we were so impressed and given that it is located just near Chutney Mary's in Subiaco, we can't believe people bother to queue at Chutneys. None of our dishes were oily which seems to be a problem with Indian sometimes.
Main size meat dishes were $16 - $19 ish, the Dosa was $9.50 and rice was $4 which was enough to share between two.
We are definitely going back. Oh, and there is the added bonus that it is BYO.
