fter Reading Sman's review we couldn't help but go and try Shehnai Tandoori Restaurant in Ocean Reef. He wasn't wrong, it is superb, some of the best curries I have tasted for some time.
We got straight into the mains and shared 4 dishes between 5 people. We chose the Butter Chicken which was cooked in the Tandoori oven and finished with a creamy butter sauce was superb. We tried the 'Palak Gosht' - Boned lamb cooked with tomatoes and English spinach. The Lamb was tender and well spiced. Also tried was the Goan Fish curry which could have been spicier for my liking, but others enjoyed it's subtlety. The final dish was the 'Navrattan Korma', a beautiful vegetable curry. All this with rice, Naan Bread, Raita & corkage for $20.00 a head is certainly great value.
You can tell they use the freshest produce as this comes across in the flavours and quality of their dishes.
Service was fine, again for a casual restaurant it was spot on.
We will definitely be returning!
