he Raffles is my new favourite Perth restaurant; I was there for lunch in a group yesterday and was seriously impressed. The service was impeccable, food superb and with beautiful river views from the restored heritage building - atmosphere is up there with the best.
I had the Morton Bay Bugs which were a special on in place of the usual entrée prawns which had already sold out. The Bugs were served halved in their shells in a coconut based Thai curry sauce which was fragrant but mild, allowing the flavour of the bugs to shine through. For main course I had the fillet of beef (150g size however its also available as a 300g size) served with poltena and jus. As you would expect the beef was cooked perfectly and the jus was outstanding. We ordered side dishes which I would recommend as the beef did not come with any vegetables or sides besides the polenta. I finished with the Warm Raspberry Meringue Pie which I shared, the waiter offered to have the pie cut in the kitchen and brought it out presented perfectly on two plates which was a really nice touch.
At all times our water and wines were kept top up, I think the service is among the best I have experienced in Perth. Prices are average for this quality of restaurant, with mains ranging between $30 - $40.
Based on this lunch, I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

I took a few clients to Deco Restaurant at Raffles for lunch recently and it was fabulous. The service and food were sensational. I can't wait to go back. | ||
