Perth Food Review

I t has been a few months ago now but I have to get this off my chest. I was really craving Mexican food (being from Texas and California, I know a thing or two about good Mexicana food) as I hadn't had any since my wife and I moved here 6 months prior. I was ready. We went to Panchos as it is literaly a stones throw from our house in Vic Park, and we had heard good things about it.
We ordered our drinks after reluctantly being sat by the sloppy dressed staff. They didn't have the beer I ordered even though it was on the menu (1) so I settled for a Corona. We ordered the combination platter for two so we could try abit of everything. Our food came in a reasonable amount of time and we dove in. I had the taco and my wife had the taquito to start. We were loving it. That would be the end of that. As I started in on the tostada I found a PAPER CLIP mixed in with the lettuce. I calmly took the paper clip infused tostada up the register, hoping for a particular response. Instead I got "We don't use paper clips here". You can imagine my face. Trying not to throw it at them I kept my cool. The ?manager? followed me back to our table and preceded to reiterate their stance on the situation. When it was all said and done we didn't recieve an appology or any kind of compensation for their short sightedness. Needless to say we were disgusted at the paper clip but more so at the way they handled the situation. It took a long time to go back but my love for Mexican food led me back for another go. I can say this meal was metal free but I did get a good look at one of the waitstaff with his underwear hanging out for the entire meal. I give Panchos a 4 all around. Maybe they should think about take away meals if they don't want to present themselves any better than that.
