e visited Maya Masala on a Thursday night. We did not have a reservation but as we were early diners (6.15pm), they were able to accommodate our party of three. The restaurant was full by 7.30pm.
We each ordered a Dosa (South Indian Savory Crepe - find out more on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dosa) - one with a spicy chicken mixture, one with minced lamb and another with paneer (cheese). They are superbly thin and crispy and were easily the size of a large dinner plate. Each of the three fillings had a unique flavour, though all were spicy (but not necessarily hot, however, we are all chilli lovers so what is not hot for us may be too much for others - if in doubt ask the waiter for guidance). The Dosa is served with small dishes of coconut & coriander chutney and Sambar (vegetables in a spicy soup base). We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and intend to visit again soon (next week in fact!).
The service was attentive and our meals arrived in a timely manner. Glancing around the restaurant at others' meals, we decided that the tandoori platter would definitely be ordered on our next visit. The meal was around $90.00 for three people which included a nice bottle of red, 2 serves of pappadums & pickle and 5 take away Indian sweets.
