O
verall I was pretty disappointed with the night. We were at a table of 4 and we ordered some garlic bread to share for entrée. For mains there were two lamb shanks and two sirloin steaks. The mains arrived quite promptly which is usually a good thing, but we had to cancel our garlic bread as it had not arrived yet.
Firstly I have to say I had a taste of the lamb shank, and it was brilliant. What let the team down was the sirloin. It was a nice cut of meat, and it was cooked well, but the accompaniments were just awful. It was advertised as coming with parmesan mashed gourmet potatoes, and a red wine jus. The potatoes were quite hard, and the parmesan had been burnt onto them somehow. The jus tasted like red wine mixed briefly with some pan juices, I dare say that’s what it was.
We used two entertainment cards to pay, and got two meals free, so some justice was done.
