ooking for a pleassant, affordable and comfortable Italian place not too far from home I stumbled across Il Ciao.
Let me say this is a pretty popular place but don't bother trying to book unless you've got a large group - they don't do that. Fortunately for me we only had to stand around for a little over 5 minutes before we got seated (at about 7 on a weeknight).
The food is classic Italian fare - good hearty comfort food. The wife and I split a bruschetta entree and a wood-fired pizza and a pasta dish each for mains. The food was good, hearty and satisfying. The service adequate if not spectacular, the atmosphere pleasant and warm.
I can say that the place seems very popular with locals. I can see it being a 'local' for many. The owner seemed very welcoming.
I was impressed by the value. The food was good - not the bast I've ever had but very good.
All in all I'll probably be back next time I'm in the mood for italian.
I almost marked the food and atmosphere an 8 each - shame I couldn't do 7.5.

Went back again on Saturday. Arrived 6:30 but still had about a half hour wait for a table. Still good, solid Italian comfort food. The place is still very popular. The only real complaints I have are: | ||
