W e were expecting Jade and got the Grill at Hillarys.
We all had steak except one who had the lamb shanks - all cooked to perfection which melted in our mouths washed down with a nice bottle of red from Margaret River.

Poor service from indifferent staff. Food was passable but expensive for what was ordered. Steaks where cooked as requested. The mussels in chilli sauce was enjoyable and the racks of lamb also cooked perfectly. The bara in beer batter was a bit on the dry side. But why oh why do chefs think people want their fish piled on top of the chips. I had to take the fish off the plate to move the chips to one side so that I could cut into it without squashing the chips underneath. Come chefs use a bit of commonsense. The plates are big enough to spread the food about without stacking everything in big piles.
I hope the breakfast service is better than the lunch service.

I agree 100% about poor service and indifferent staff. We went there for breakfast on Sunday, looking forward to a good meal. We arrived and were seated at 10:15. It took 20 minutes to be served. Four other tables who arrived after us were served before us. It took another 30 minutes for 2 coffees to arrive and another 15 for the food.
We complained about the wait when ordering and were told that they were very busy. No apologies offered or remorse shown. Although the restaurant was quite full, surely there are only as many tables in the place as can be handled by the staff and the kitchen?
There appeared to be no management of any sort in attendance.
The food was OK although cold by the time it got to us. One question, how does any quality restaurant justify using frozen, off the shelf hash browns?

We booked a group 2 weeks ago. Worked out to be the same night as fireworks on the beach so did get a free show but that was the only good part of the whole night. For $45 a head - Entree was poor - chorizo was extremely dry, chewy and too salty. Only other inclusions were a small bowl of fetta, olives and pickled onions. Not what I would order but there was no choice of entree - this was it! There was only a choice of 4 main meals - I ordered the chicken wrapped in proscuitto. Very plain, I could have added more taste at home. Dessert was good and they actually did cater for the fact that I can't have milk and made me a fruit salad. Service was extremely poor. The waitpersons actually lent over the table to hand us our food instead of taking the time to walk around and serve us. Drinks took a long time to arrive and we were eventually told to leave just after 11.00 as they were closing - would have left earlier if we had been served quicker. Took 1 hr to get out main meal and dessert wasn't served until 10.15pm. NEVER AGAIN !
