e decided to have just a lazy Thursday night out, no plans, just do. So we ended up round the corner at a new little place, Gigi's on George. Old name but it looks and is totally different to the last. They have donr so much work inside and outside making a great difference. The new owners and staff have done a great job.
First you rock up and they have moved the entrence, and you first hit the new bar. Amazing. We sat here for almost an hour and had a couple of cocktails. I had a wonderful Vesper Martini, never heard of it and was recomended by the barman, and my partner had a couple of Mojito's. Again, wonderful. And even a couple of tapas enjoyed at the bar. Since there were enough tapas to choose from we decided to just stay at the bar and do that all night. I looked through the wine list, quite small but I think it has a lot to offer. The barman told us that the plan is to change it quite often.
The bar itself is small, old jazz tunes going on, really cozy. There are a couple of little tables with to sit, one even a chess board. Or just just entertain at the bar. BUt you can go into the restaurant and have a fuller menu if you wish, but just having the choice to have the smaller sides and the drinks was really a good choice. I will be heading back here for sure.
