Perth Food Review

T he night was warm, and Leederville was alive. We had planned to go to Giardini’s but if they were full, we would eat elsewhere as there is no shortage of choice in the area. Luckily Giardini’s had a few spare tables, and we were seated inside at the front by the atmosphere of Leedervile. We were seated by the hostess, who was polite and energetic. Soon a waitress arrived to take our drink orders, we order two Stella Artois’s. Unfortunately it seemed like the drinks were being shipped from Belgium, but the barman did appear to be extremely busy. When they did arrive they were worth the wait, and the waitress took or food orders. My partner ordered a Caesar Salad, and I ordered Peter’s Risotto. There were many things on the menu that sounded delightful, it was difficult to choose. The Caesar Salad was an extremely generous serve, topped with many pieces of tasty chicken, and was as good as you could expect anywhere. The Risotto was served under Grilled marinated lamb fillets, and stirred with sun dried tomatoes, olives and lots of parmesan cheese. The lamb was tender and complemented the risotto perfectly. The risotto took on an orange colour as it was tomato based, and with Peter’s special ingredients was very enjoyable, and I scrapped the plate clean. The serves are generally quite large, and the prices are very reasonable. After our mains we were stuffed, but that didn’t stop us getting two pieces of cheesecake to takeaway. I had the Baileys Cheescake which was fantastic, and my partner had a Mascarpone based Berry Cheescake, which was just as good. Overall a very pleasant evening, definitely a place worth revisiting.
