The trouble with this restaurant is their idiosyncratic concept of temperature. The place was freezing, all the diners were forced to keep their coats on and when the lone waitstaff member was asked to turn the heating on she could only reply "broken"
While the beef satay was exceptionally good, the foretaste of the random temperatures came with the prawn satay:- chilled prawns and tepid sauce. Now call me oldfashioned but that does not bode well in terms of quality control.
And seeing as there was only one waitperson I kind of guessed the dishes would not come out at the same time, unless of course you happened to be an Indonesian family who turned up 20 minutes after my party and hey presto got served 10 minutes before mine. Go figure.
The gado gado looked like it had been dropped in the kitchen prior to service and again the sauce was ice cold. The "grilled squid" had been grilled hours before and ranged from lukewarm to 6 degrees. I sent it back as I could not count on the quality and to be fair it was excised form my bill. One of my dining companions declared the nasi goreng to be excellent.
In short, the short staffing both on the floor and in the kitchen left a bad taste and I would certainly not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
