Perth Food Review

T he establishment has a friendly interior and the staff were friendly when we arrived. I was under the impression that the restaurant was Italian but after perusing the menu to find Cajun chips and Greek salads, I reconsidered. Meal prices are a little high considering the level of culinary mastery presented on the plate. A dish of over-cooked vegetable penne with a bland sauce fetches $25. The portions are large but little thought has gone into presentation of the dishes, or indeed into their flavour.

The food came within a reasonable amount of time and was hot. Unfortunately staff failed to offer to serve us additional drinks and I had to ask for them. If they restaurant owners want to make more money, it is here they could make a big difference. I would have had two or three more drinks if someone, anyone had offered to bring us some.

The biggest faux pas came when the entire restaurant was packed up around us at about 10:30. We persevered and continued talking and enjoying the cake and coffee that had been served to us shortly before, but ultimately we were made to feel unwlecome at such and early hour and left feeling as if we had been kicked out. The time was 11:20pm.

The restaurant's strong point is clearly their selection of cakes. It is large, tasty and looks very impressive. The coffee, Segafredo, was excellent and well presented. However, cakes and coffee do not a restaurant make and it falls down long before dessert is served. This place is ideal for a coffee outing but I would not venture out to Vic Park again for the meals.
