Perth Food Review

A s this begins to seem as a new weekend routine, we were once again on the prowl for eating out destinations last friday night.. On that night, Cafe Villa was our destination..

We reached to find the place already packed, so we took our seats and got straight down to it.. We started with garlic bread and a very delicious garlic prawns served with white wine creams sauce and toasted turkish bread.. We couldn't get enough of it..! So with hopes high up we anticipated the mains..
My brother and I ordered the 'Spanish style risotto', which was cooked not with arborio rice, but normal rice, and it was baked with king prawns, mussels, calamari, fish, mushrooms and onion.. It was a very nice mix of seafood flavours, and the rice absorbed all of it, including the moisture.. As far as a risotto would go, I didn't think it was very good, just average, as it was pretty dry.. If they had called it "baked rice with.. blah blah.." then I think it would've been a better dish.. :P
Our friend decided to give the fettucine a shot, tossed with spinach, mushrooms, onions, feta cheese, walnuts, spanish onion and sundried tomato pesto.. I don't know about anyone else, but these would be quite the ideal fettucine ingredients for me..

The place, even though full, wasn't really packed, despite the seats being close together and all.. A very homely Italian feeling I'd say, with a modern touch.. All our needs were attended to without delay, and the wait staff was friendly and efficient.. I've already planned to return another day to try the sirloin (!!), and would definitely recommend Cafe Villa to anyone ! Happy dining !
