Perth Food Review

F ianally, a place with good food! I am very picky when it comes to restaurants. I am a really good cook myself, and have been disappointed on numerous occasions with regards to Italian restaurants and the food they claim as being authentic and traditional. I have to say that this restaurant has been the only Italian restaurant in a long while to serve me fantastic traditional Italian dishes, and with great service as well.

I have been back to Savini a number of times, and each time, including the first, i have been greeted with genuine enthusiasm by the owner (how rare is that? in other restaraunts service when you walk in means to be nodded at by a grubby teenager.) From the first night i got to know the owner's wife and their three sons, all of whom i could see work really hard at what they do.

The servings were substantial and you could tell that the ingrediants used were really fresh. i also love the food cooked in the woodfire oven-you can't beat that flavour.

i also notice they offer dishes to suit all people, ( my friends all watch their wait, but they too found heaps of light, healthy meals to choose from.) too often restaurants offer only greasy or unhealthy meals, but savini is really good in this respect.

i love their pizzas. they are an absolute must, the pizza chef john, the oldest of the sons is so fun to watch as he manages the amazing, and real (not those metal ones , but a real) woodfired oven.

the prices are also not bad, considering the serving sizes.

really romantic and fun atmosphere. i encourage food enthusiasts to definitely give this one a go. i know that i have found a little gem in mt. lawley.
