riday night and we didn’t book a table however the staff were very accommodating and fitted us in to the popular restaurant within half an hour. Serving a hybrid between Australian and Japanese meals it was one of the best places I have eaten in Perth recently. I started with tasty fishcakes whilst my partner had very tender squid pieces. For mains his was steak beautifully done however I think my salmon steak on a bed of mash and bok choy with a delicate miso sauce was the winner of the evening.
Each dish was artfully presented making every dish more special. The warm earthen décor tones gave the restaurant cosy feeling which was thoroughly appreciated on this chilly winter night.
The wait staff thoroughly deserved the tip; they were polite, didn’t interrupt to ask for drinks in the middle of a conversation, the specials board was carefully explained (instead of rushed through which leaves me asking ‘what was the first one again?’) and were able to answer my questions about the dishes on the menu. As for prices, I don’t mind paying a little more than then the average café when the service and food is clearly well above the standard.
We didn’t try desserts but I certainly hope to do so in the future. Definitely a place to visit for a special occasion.
