y friend and I were looking for some lunch that was tasty and reasonably priced so we headed to Barista. I’ve been to Barista a few times but mainly for dinner. The lunch menu is fairly standard with mostly sandwiches, salads and Turkish breads etc but there are a few interesting choices (which we opted for).
I had the ‘stuffed field mushrooms’ although I wouldn’t agree that they were stuffed they were not disappointing. The three mushrooms were topped with a sun dried tomato and piece of camembert each and served on a bed of fresh English spinach and roast pumpkin. My friend had the chicken stir fry which came with noodles, plenty of fresh vegies and was in a sweet chilli and lemongrass sauce. The mains were god sizes and satisfying.
Desert though was the highlight. The coffees and cakes at Barista are fantastic. The lemon cheesecake that we shared was possibly the best I’ve had, its hard to describe cheesecake but this one was in my mind perfect. We’ll be returning to sample other cakes!
