06-09-2007 : sirbisa : Whilst the Oyster Bar on the Beach is not a cheap night out, for us it was an excellent night out. We started with Oysters Natural and Kilpatrick ($12 a dozen if you go on Monday or Tuesday) and conti...[more]
07-11-2005 : Paul : The Oyster Bar On The Beach (restaurant) relies on its location to attract most of its customers. It is set on the edge of Leighton beach in the sand dunes and the sunsets over the ocean can be stunni...[more]

23-04-2007 : sidra : We chose the Oyster Bar to have a special family dinner to celebrate my Grandma's arrival from overseas - it was a momentous occasion as she had made the journey and she is very old.Unfortunately this was to be anything but a special night. The service was terrible, the food was awful and over priced!!! I ordered the prawn and avocado salad which had about two prawns and absolutely no avocado. My mother ordered the chicken Ceasar salad without bacon and ended up getting Ceasar salad with bacon and absolultely no chicken. My Grandmother ordered the fish grilled it came battered. We made a complaint but still paid and left feeling like we had waisted our money and we were very discontent. Its such a shame because the setting is beautiful. This was anything but a special night......... drive through fast food would have been more pleasing. :: [original context]
26-06-2006 : LJMfoods : The Oyster Bar has a great view and relatively nice decor. It's a pity the food isn't that great and the service isn't helpful. Like one of the reviewers our group (16) was split over two tables with barely enough rouom to breathe. One table had mains served before the other had ordered. How is that possible? I did go back and had a slightly better experience. But my overall impression is of steep prices, small portions, and tasteless seafood. Lucky they have a view and a well stocked bar. :: [original context]
14-08-2004 : Karrie : We also thought the bar on the beach quite disappointing. The prices were exorbitant for what was, essentially, very poor quality seafood. The 15% surcharge on weekends and public holidays is a total sham. Great location but sorry Warren, it's just total crap. :: [original context]
15-05-2004 : Casey : Saturday 15/05/04 myself and 3 friends went to the oyster bar for dinner. We immediately found the staff to be very forced in their service and the head waiter to be incredibly arrogant. We waited about half an hour before our entree and after which our main arrived an hour later. My friend had the Chicken, simply grilled and it was cold. When we went to pay we found out that all items on the menu are GST exclusive, including wine and cocktails. So on top of poor service and mediocre food, we paid 10% on each and every item. Very disapointed. I would give this restaurant 3/10. :: [original context]
07-05-2004 : Currie Family : Don't take your family to the Oyster Bar on the beach for a fun lunch and with good prices and a view because it just won't happen. We were really, really disappointed by the quality and quantity of the food and the price of the grog. The cooking facilities are located right next to the toilets which is not a good look and the plastic glassware just has to go. We won't be going back!! :: [original context]
23-04-2004 : John Salsa : Monday 19/4/04 we had a group turn up at the Beach bar which was closed due to the cool weather. However, the manager opened it up for us and set up the sound system to allow us to play our Latino music so we could dance away in the evening. He offerred us a great deal with delicious platters of food for the group which made it a great evening in a beautiful setting. He liked our dancing so much he has invited us to come again and we will, on Sunday 8th May 6.00pm. It is no doubt the best place for chilling out with Latin dancing! Thanks for the unexpected hospitality Luke. :: [original context]
