As for Shun Fung, it is probably the only place in Perth I have come across outside of Hongkong which has really top quality and authentic dim sum. Sure, there are always wait staff from mainland China who speak little English - but if you are used to Asian restaurants as you pointed out, it should be no surprise about the usual communication breakdown. There are some days when Shun Fung does not deliver on the food, and I have a sneaky suspicion that the chef is not there everyday however when it is good, it is really excellent food (particularly Cantonese) and when you can get a table on the verandah overlooking the water when the sun is shining and the sky is blue, this is really one of the best spots Perth has on offer from any point of view, be it Chinese, Asian or Western/Australian food. :: [original context] |
