13-02-2005 : David D : Well it had been a while since we were at room 19, but dropped in for dessert as we have had the fondue before. Mmm it has gone down hill i'm sory to say the chocolate was cold and runny, and very oil...[more]
15-10-2004 : neil : I was a bit skeptical so waited to try this restaurant. I was amazed at how good the food is. This food is equally as good as loose box, frasers, jacksons. Awesome. All the hoo haa about the toilets, ...[more]
01-04-2004 : Tony J : It wasn’t my idea, but we did have a great night. I was keen to sample the menu, as there were numerous items that sounded appealing to me, plus I have heard great things about the chef, Ian Lawless. ...[more]

23-01-2005 : kool Kiwis : we have just watched the whole series, over here in NZ-absolutely loved it !!! Really loved Ash 'n' Amanda.Definitely deserved to win. What is this I read that you had to pay lots of tax upon winningand your building was/is to be demolished?? How do us poor kiwis find out how it all went, 6 months after you won?? :: [original context]
21-09-2004 : Amanda : Thanks for your support guys :: [original context]
09-08-2004 : Brittany Miles : Wow! great work i will be comming soon give me a pressy comming December wait for me :: [original context]
26-07-2004 : SA BOY : Perth suck! It was rigged!!!!!!!! Rigged I say! Go the red sea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Youngest and most attractive staff at adelaide Go SA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :: [original context]
26-07-2004 : tazza : SA boy, stay of this god damn website if you have nothing nice to say about perth. Red Sea should have been shut down on several occasions with their childish ways and very UNHYGENIC ways, would you eat of a spoon that was shoved down nic's butt, supposinely NO!!! :: [original context]
10-07-2004 : ronajane : We are off to the res. tonight. We rang up with 2 hours to spare and they squeezed us in as we were from out of town. They were happy to answer all my questions no matter how silly they were. I am so pleased they managed to keep their dream and feel very disapointed for the other states. A good leson was learned from this show....keep your dreams alive and don't let anybody tell you you can't do it. Well done Perth. :: [original context]
02-07-2004 : beach : well, we (my and 2 chids) are off to room 19 in a few weeks time. The hype reached us all the way up in Geraldton and we are really looking forward to see how the restaurant is. :: [original context]
26-06-2004 : belinda : well done ash and amanda!!! congratulations on winning room nineteen and proving to the rest of australia that perth does have what it takes to run a successful business. i've tried twice now to eat at room nineteen but it was always very busy, but the guard at the front entrance was very friendly and we even had a photo with him. congratulations on your marriage, if you can survive dating on reality t.v then i am sure you will both be very happy together for a long long time. :: [original context]
24-06-2004 : sfd : I have dined at room 19 twice befor the show was over and have been meaning to go back there (Owning a restaurant myself is hard to find time).I had my wifes b'day there and everyone there were all so happy to help us celebrate her b'day (with no cameras present) Thanks ash and amanda for everything and I will be back cheeres :: [original context]
23-06-2004 : tazza : u know nothing about the hospitality buisness gough.. it may have slighty been a poplularity contest, but look who topped them all. I will definetly be dining there soon, as it is my favourite restaurant. :: [original context]
23-06-2004 : Jamie : Until this day I still can't believe Seven Stones did not win. It is very disheartening to learn that Australian voters voted b/c they did not like Peter's arrogance or Nick's stupidity etc....Its' a huge disappointment for the Melbourne Restaurant. I believe the show was a huge failure as the judges are there to influence the Australian voters. Perth always came last in the EXPERT reviews and they won....That is just unbelievable. Unlike shows such as Australian Idol, where judges did influence votes and true talent came through, this show has been a disaster. GO MELBOURNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dined at both restaurants and I would have to agree with the expert reviewers/judges...Melbourne rated better in every way.... :: [original context]
21-06-2004 : gough : What a joke - your food and decor are rubbish. This show turned out to be a giant con job - nothing to do with restaurant and business strategy. It was a glorified popularity contest, won by people who had a pooh product, but enjoyed the support of a small (but dedicated) city with a massive provincial "chip on the shoulder". :: [original context]
20-06-2004 : Tony J : Chris, being their "# 1 fan" I thought you would at least have known that Judi has gone back to New York, and you might have a hard time working with her in the future. Anyhow she was miserable the whole show, she was like the Natelie of Perth. :: [original context]
17-06-2004 : Hale : Well,my girfriend & I finally dined at Room 19 the other night. We thought the food was really good, not great, slightly above average. The service was ok,a little clunky, but the staff were all friendly & polite. We felt the prices were a little high, the food was good, but not good enough to justify the price we paid.Out of a rating of 10,we'd give Room 19 a a borderline 6. :: [original context]
17-06-2004 : Christopher Nielsen : I have dined at Room Nineteen 3 times now and being PERTH # 1 FAN. (Yes I was the one that was on T.V. I have spoken to as and Amanda on many occasions and they are the most kind and loving people you will eva meet. Ash, Amanda, Ian, Judi and the team are the deserving winners and I hope to work with you in the future. Seeya oxoxoxox :: [original context]
16-06-2004 : Kevin & Tania : Congratulations Ash and Amanda and Goodluck for Saturday, we are finally able to get time of from work and travel all the way down to come to the restaurant on Sunday, it's a shame we wont get to meet you, but hope all goes well on your special day. You both rock XXX :: [original context]
14-06-2004 : tazza : the comments that mny of you guys make are appauling.Ash and Amanda deserved to win because the whole of public voted for them. it's not a popularity contest, it's who deserves to win. who cares if they are the aussie battlers, they deserve the credit because they put there hert and soul into the restaurant and look who came out best. Ash and Amanda, i have not dined in your restaurant yet but am looking forward to dining there on my b'day next month. All of australia loves you and we still support you even if the cameras are gone. Also with simon and natalie, they were backstabbing and never deserved to win. People only dined in there restaurant to cop a bit of the action with the agueing, atleast WA has true spirit and stick together as a team. CONGRATS ASH AND AMAND :: [original context]
13-06-2004 : myview : What can I say, apart from there seems to be a few bitter & twisted people out there(especially those who didn't want WA to win) but at the end of the day, or in this case the competition, it wasn't about food, decor or even ambiance(have I spelt that right)it was about marketability and popularity and Ash ran it like a marketing campaign to begin with, he saw it for what it really was and that is one of the reasons why he and Amamnda won. The other reason they did well was they where smart enough to give the customers what they wanted (credit to Iain Lawless) you see I am married to a chef and worked with her as well, and even I can see that if you give the customer what they want, in regards to food and other aspects (including personality & down to earth friendliness) then they will keep coming back and in this case vote for you. Ash & Amanda were and are smart enough to realise this, unlike others who refused to cook a well done steak. But now the competition is over and the winners have been announced, so no amount of bad criticism is going to change that fact lets face it we all have our critics( unfortunately even biased, self absorbed and opinionated food critics in this case)so we can't please everyone, so we just have to please ourselves and especially the customers. To all you sore loosers out there, even those with low mentalities, who only know how to be abusive and use fowl words, give them credit where credit is due, Ash & Amanda won the competion, so now we sit back and see if they can make a go of it, without the cameras and constant publicity about, as this will be the true test, to see if Room 19 is still functioning as a Financially viable process in the future, this will be the real competion. As for the other competitors who lost what can I say but, that's life, or as a mate of mine would say "Shit doesn't happen, arseholes make it" (Simon and n Natalie should understan that at least)and you can take that any way you like. So good luck to Ash & Amanda and I hope they make a successfull long term go of it and as for those of you who don't agree with me in this regard then I would suggest that you just "Get over it & get on with it" :: [original context]
13-06-2004 : Rosie Mathers : Congratulations Ash and Amanda. We were gunning for you all along. We live in QLD so we have not visited your resturant but we also had no desire to support the QLD entry. The last week was very hard to decide because Perth and Melb were both our favourites. I am glad with the outcome. We would like to also congratulate you on your up and coming wedding. I have not heard if the date has changed from 19th but we hope you all the best. We always said that we hoped you would get it as you had to go through the nomingations everytime. In the end we believed it may have been what was good for you as you were great at campaigneing. Your profile was also higher on TV because you had been nominated each time. I would like to say that you seem to be a great down to earth, genuine Aussie bloke and deserved to win. Congratulations. Hope you do very well. You won our support and our hearts. Rosie :: [original context]
12-06-2004 : Hale : I'm very happy for Ash,& Amanda, they worked hard,& now they own there own restaurant. But people need to stop taking Perth's win,& Melbourne's loss so seriously, because after all,it was only reality television, nothing more, nothing less.Sure,Ash,& Amanda, deserved to win, they worked hard, but so did all the couples, they all deserved to win.But at the end of the day,the winner was determined not by the quality of their food, service,or ambience, but on their popularity. :: [original context]
12-06-2004 : Hale : I've tried contacting Room 19 on 92283092 to book a table for dinner, but no one ever answers the phone.Have I been phoning the wrong number?,or has Room 19 closed down already?. :: [original context]
12-06-2004 : Ali : Congrats Ash and Amanda You were the only contestant that tried to do all the renovation that you could on your restaurant in the beginning and not employ everyone else to do it for you. Peter and Tai hired everyone to do everything even down to their bookwork. Peter may have been the voice but everyone else did the work. And who can forget the Peter in the beginning when things would not go his way. He did not change he just learned to say the right thing in front of the camera. He kept saying it was not a popularity competition but who stopped being rude and obnoxious towards the end of the show so as to appear like a nice bloke in order to get more votes. Its a shame Tai had him as her partner because I think he ultimately lost it for them in the beginning. And Simon did bad mouth all except Peter and Tai if you had watched all episodes. Of course it was a popularity contest but Ash and Amanda would not have won if they did not have the whole package and please give Australian voters some credit we can't all be wrong. It would be very interesting to see how much each state did in the voting. Each State lost it for themselves in one way or another except for Sydney. Aussies do not like arrogance (Peter), rudeness (Simon), stupidity (Nick). Joan Smith said it all. :: [original context]
10-06-2004 : Simone : Hi Ash & Amanda, and the team behide them. Well done on your win.I live in nsw and never voted for nsw because by far you guys rocked the whole time and i voted for you.we must come to perth and check it out and your Room 19.have a great wedding day.keep up the great work.enjoy your well deserved honeymoon. :: [original context]
10-06-2004 : Sexy : Congrats on the Win Guys. You Rock. GO PERTH!!!! You deserved to win. :: [original context]
09-06-2004 : Claire and Grace : GO PERTH. YOU ROCK!!!!!! You deserved to win. Can't wait to visit your resturant & Can't wait to meet you there. :: [original context]
08-06-2004 : Jen : To Tyson, Maybe if you could spell you might have a little more credibility. Give credit where credit is due. Ash and Amanda won because they did what the show aimed to do - create the best restaurant. The best restaurant can be a combination of things - obviously none of which rate very high on your list Tyson, of what makes a good restaurant. Congratulations Ash and Amanda, you deserve it! :: [original context]
04-06-2004 : Mr X : Great point by Lisa L!! I live in Sydney, did i vote for Sydney? No. I wanted the BEST restauarant to win! Many WA people are going on how 'they' won? I knew Ash& amanda were going to win when Simon& Nat got kicked off. It was a popularity vote. Peter & Tay RAN a successful business, and the emotion from Peter at the news of his loss, explains everything! Simon who was a professional chef also deserved it more than Ash & amanda. I feel the voting system was not fair as well. I think australia watched the show and voted as if it were Big Brother.. Amateurs won, the Aussie Battler rules again. I feel there were other contestants who were more deserving.. Ash & amandas restaurant did NOT rule by any means. :: [original context]
01-06-2004 : Libby : To Lisa L, just wanted to remind you that it was a little easier for Simon and Natalie to visit Emily while she was recuperating in a Brisbane hospital. Did you expect Ash and Amanda to fly over there? :: [original context]
01-06-2004 : Jenni : After sitting here and reading every single comment made here, i would like to take a moment to make the following statement: As West Australians, yes people might be biased, however, that does not mean that seven stones would have won the competition had they been located in perth! Nor does serving a steak make your meal a pub lunch or below standard. Ash and Amanda have catered for the AVERAGE laid back West Australian with their menu! I personaly am a little glad they have Food I would enjoy in their restaurant rather then a menu full of animal parts i'd rather not mention. The reason why the public time after time voted for ash and amanda is because they believe they DESERVED TO WIN. Those who watched the show in the beginning would know all to well how ash and amanda hated the stripes, they would know, Ash and amanda actually asked for it to be changed but their Budget and Time frame would not allow it. Since comments were ever made about their restaurant, they have been taking the good advice and constructive criticism and been improving their restaurant and the service. Now is the time that we sit back and see what ash and amanda do with their restaurant, what changes THEY make to improve it and we can instead of saying what it isnt, Appriciate what it is. FINE DINING FOR THE AVERAGE JOE!!! Well i think it is fine dining. Ian does an awsome job with the food and Ash and amanda are deserving winners. Go Room nineteen. I wish you all the best. :: [original context]
31-05-2004 : Amy W : Congrats Ash and Amanda you guys worked so hard and deserved to win your restaurant, I had a feeling you would. I have not yet been to Room19 for a meal yet, but now that the cameras have gone down i will be there with bells on (remember that). I wish you both all the very best with your new lives/restaurant. What a GREAT win, for a GREAT team!!! GO PERTH YAY :: [original context]
31-05-2004 : Lisa L : Just read Steph Bathfield.....perhaps she forgot just how kind Natalie and Simon have been to the other contestants.I didn't see A+A visiting Emily (SA) in hospital - N+S were the first there. I didn't see A+A visit any other restaurant just to try the food before they shut down - N+S were the first (and only) to visit anyone else off their own bat. I also noticed Simon was the first one to call Ash and empathise (not gloat) when it was first announced they were up for eviction. I thoroughly agree with Tyson, the best food, service and atmosphere should have won, not the most popular. Pity Channel 7 allowed owners, staff and family to vote - I don't know of many competitions that allow that. I wonder who would have won if that wasn't a factor? I hope A+A wake up and realise what a life altering gift they have been given. Perhaps now they will stop being marketing managers, and go back to (attempting) being owners of a restaurant! Shame the least deserving couple won. Best of luck to all the other couples - especially Peter and Tay, to build a sucessful restaurant in the city of restaurants is a proud acomplishment indeed. A+A - pick your socks up and get back to work. Ian - ask for more money, and don't be afraid to change the rather average menu. :: [original context]
31-05-2004 : Ian M. : Well done to Ash and Amanda on winning MRR. However, I have to wonder if the result would have been different if say Peter and Tay with Seven Stones were located in Perth and Amanda and Ash with Room 19 were in Melbourne? Would be congratulating a different winner? If so, what does that say? Just a thought...(I live in Perth by the way) :: [original context]
30-05-2004 : DIANNE MARGARET : Congratulations Ash & Amanda We are from Sydney & Perth and live in Sydney. After we lost Sam & Catherine we have voted relentlessly for you. Everyone I know here who watched the show was voting for you, some even before we lost our restaurant. We hope your restaurant will be successful after the cameras have gone and we can get to try it when we come to Perth on holidays next year. When the decision was announced there was a great cheer here and we rang our Perth rels so they didn't have to stand the suspense. Just one final word there are heaps of Perth people in Sydney and its time Perth stopping thinking all states east of the WA border are the same. Peter and Tay found out they are not. Best wishes :: [original context]
30-05-2004 : kylie Harris : congratulations perth I wanted you to win all the time. I knew you guys could do it. What a great wedding present for you both. kylie :: [original context]
30-05-2004 : joan smith : hi ash and amanda i have been following the "restaurant rules" and new that the australian public would vote you in . Why? because when you spoke over the "media" you spoke as a couple and as a team. It was spoken as a "win win" effort for Room 19. great team management guys and a huge congratulations. Joannie E smith. Lecturer in hospitality studies :: [original context]
30-05-2004 : mel : I screamed and just about cried when we found out you won - and a well deserved win to a great couple. Haven't had a chance to dine in the restaurant but at least I will be able to now that you have finally won and will be open! and we look forward to that.. :: [original context]
30-05-2004 : Sam : Congratulations Ash & Amanda We are very proud of you both for sticking it up the Vic's and all the other states for that matter. W.A are always the under dogs, but with all your hard work and dedication seen W.A win with flying colours. You guys were the most down to earth couple that never put on a show to "Big Note Ya Selves". All the best for the future & your wedding. You guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!! :: [original context]
30-05-2004 : Chris : Dunno about sticking it up the vics. Here born in Sydney and lived in melbourne since 1963. Am Australian. Congratulations to both of you. had a gut feeling half way through that you would win. Down to earth and surprise, good business sense. Not bad for a wharfie hey Amanda. Tell that fantastic Scot Chef of yours, we think he is the best. Would like to see the sword on the wall when we visit. You are now Australia's favourite restaurant well done. Sorry Sam but Australia voted. Hope the wedding goes well, no doubt will see you on TV. Gee Australias favourite family. Well done. :: [original context]
30-05-2004 : Chris : P.S. Just read TYSON. mmmmmm keep the sword on the wall, he might want to fall on it. :: [original context]
30-05-2004 : Rebecca : Congrats Ash and Amanda you worked so hard and you deserved to win. Now that the cameras are gone we are coming down to have a meal.... :: [original context]
29-05-2004 : amanda jean : go perth you can do it! :: [original context]
27-05-2004 : Steph Bathfield : THERE YOU GO SIMON AND NATALIE THEY'VE PUT IT IN YOUR FACE AND YOU FELL FLAT ON IT! THATS WHAT HAPPENS TO BIG MOUTHS WHO THINK THEY KNOW EVERYTHING, GO PERTH! YOU REALLY DESERVE TO WIN.. REALLY DO... SO COME ON GUYS VOTE 6... AFTER ALL THIS WE CAN MAKE ONE MORE EFFORT FOR THEM! ONLY ONE PHONE CALL IS NEEDED! SO PHONE 1902 555 226 AND PRESS 6!! GO PERTH! XX STEPH! :: [original context]
23-05-2004 : Kelvin : Well done Ash and Amanda! We made it through to the finals! All the best to you guys and hopefully we'll be able to enjoy your food for the years to come. One more thing, why aren't you guys open on Mondays??? We can't get enough of you guys!!! :: [original context]
22-05-2004 : tyson : I don’t believe that the people of Perth would support a restaurant (really pub food or a cafe) like room 19, I thought that we were slowly becoming educated on what is quality food and a good dining experience, but yet again W.A's hospitality industry has been put to shame by Room 19, Ash's totally mundane menu items like beef & reef, chocolate fondue, scoops of ice cream.... WOW! how did he come up with those ideas, ask his mother (no disrespect) or was it the Country Woman’s ASSOSIATION COOKBOOK. Perth has the highest percentage of eateries to population in the country out of all of them there is only a handful that actually could be classed as real restaurants, ones that come to mind are Jacksons, Fraisers, Loose Box, and Star Anise. Honestly, Room 19 is a perfect example of what is wrong with W.A's hospitality scene, in places like Northbridge, Subiaco, Leederville, Central Perth, so called restranteur's are opening new eateries with no experience or knowledge of the industry, they normally think of the prestige of owning it. They copy whatever everyone else is doing, hire staff and they are ready to open. A few months down the track the bills start to come in and they wonder why they are not doing well they end up raising prices, reducing staff to a minimum causing bad service, bad meals. Finally they decide to cut and run and never discuss it again. Then next week the process starts again. Iain Lawless is well known in the industry and an excellent Chef unfortunately he has not been (in my opinion) given complete control over the menu to show how good his food can be like the days of Lawless & Chapmen Restaurant. Instead Ash has a talented chef pumping out pub grub that you can get anywhere. I would have liked to be a fly on the wall when Iain was educating Ash on the difference between Gravox Gravy and Jus. What a great combination chips & Beef Jus I am sure the kitchen crew would be happy seeing the time consuming Jus been moped up by Ash with his chips. And for Ash to say that he is catering for the average Joe and does not want to become snobby wombats what does he mean by snobby wombats! people that like to go to a restaurant that are innovative and creative always trying to take it up a notch, people that are aware that it may cost a bit more but know that the chef's have put time into a menu which would challenge the customer to try new methods and combinations, a great experience for the kitchen staff to use ideas and create a exciting, educating experience. Average Joe does like the food at Room 19, but at those prizes I would be expecting something more, not just good old-fashioned comfort food that is no challenge for Iain & staff, which is such a waste of talent. This leaves average Joe with a full stomach and an empty wallet with out even giving them the chance to try new things so they end up with a limited view of all the wonderful products available. Ash & Amanda are making good money for themselves in the short term but they will fall when the novelty has worn of. If Perth does win I grantee Iain will not stay unless he has his style of food on the menu. Ash should be a manager even an owner of a family restaurant like Sizzlers or Nero’s. I believe the competition's aim was to find a couple that could run a successful, interesting, creative, challenging restaurant not just a money making cow. :: [original context]
21-05-2004 : wendy : Go Perth I am hoping to come and dine on Saturday night IF i can get in the door. I will be travelling over from Sydney so I do hope I can enjoy the experience. Vote for you regularly feel you are giving up please keep the spirits up and Win Win Win Go Perth! :: [original context]
21-05-2004 : tazza : I support perth all the way.. they have shown what a true couple has been like all the way, running a restaurnat. by the way mr x, ash has a good sense of humour, i hated watching simon with his angry mood, he is a creep and natalie is a caniving bitch, sorry but perth should win. lOVE YOU PERTH....GO GO GO GO remember to vote 6 for perth, keep them alive!!! :: [original context]
21-05-2004 : Matt : GO PERTH! GO PERTH! VOTE 6 DONT WORRY ABOUT THE OTHERS PERTHS GONNA WIN!!!! GO PERTH! :: [original context]
16-05-2004 : Mr X : The truth is Perth are getting Australias vote because they ARE seen as the 'battlers', the 'underdogs'. Most of MRR is Ash saying 'dude' and whinging alot. What work has been done? He choose the fab decore of the restaurant? Nice choice. Brisbane worked hard, they ran the place, they worked in the place. People are saying Perth food is for the average joe. What average Joe can afford a $39 Surf and Turf? Jasmine has a review on the MRR website " people forget that Room19 is fine dining for the average joe, not full on fine dining like the others... i think that it should be taken in to consideration...also, our food is cheaper than the other places... so you should not expect the same kind of food..." LOL.. I think Average Joe would want an awesome meal for $39... As far as Ashs complaints about Matt Preston? He is a food critic, its what he does, he is a paid professional... he is there to find faults and praise the good attributes. Im reluctant to say that unfortunatly I beleive Perth will win. Not because their restaurant is special, not because they worked hard, but rather Australia is backing the battler. Simon made the show interesting, he shows the rest of us, what it REALLY is like to work/run a restaurant. Ash has shown us how to say 'dude' alot and not much else....... :: [original context]
14-05-2004 : Tim : GO PERTH GO, you guys rule!!! i have eaten at your resturant twice and it has been a wonderful & most enjoyable experience. I'll be back!!! Good Luck & Thanks Up the Fondue : ) :: [original context]
10-05-2004 : Trish : Go Ash and Amanda, I can see your pain and stress. They will do anything to see you guys go, imagine going down to us Perth hickeys, that was a bitter pill for Brisbane to swallow. Keep going you are winners anyway which way you go You guys have personality not like the eastern states!! :: [original context]
09-05-2004 : Mon : If only there wasn't so much land between me and getting my bum on a seat in Ash and Amanda's restaurant. I'm a QLD girl... and tonight (after the votes were announced) I was very VERY excited to see that Ash and Amanda got through. Good work guys! Go Perth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If someone would like to sponsor me for a trip to Perth... I would be more than willing to take you up on that offer! Cheers Mon :: [original context]
09-05-2004 : Carlie : GO ASH & AMANDA YOU GUYS ROCK Everyone in Kalgoorlie are 100% behind you :) :) :) :) GO PERTH :) :) :) :) :: [original context]
07-05-2004 : Perth Gal : GO PERTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *****VOTE 4 ASH N AMANDA***** :: [original context]
06-05-2004 : dissapointed local : I am a Perth local and support my state in every opportunity it deserves. We live in a fantastic place - no disputing this. We also have a number of great restaurants with many different choices available. Granted we do not have the population of Sydney and Melbourne but we offer a pretty good cross section of dining experiences. I dined at Room 19 on Wednesday night (last night) and I must say that I was sadly dissapointed. I think it is great that Ash and Amanda are having a go at this competition, but I wish they would have researched their target more - then perhaps we (perth) would have had a chance in this national competition. The food we had was fine - the steak with chips(??) chicken breast on lentil mash (small and not exciting) and the duck (tasty and well sized). Decor was drab, but then again what was the budget? (not much from the looks of it). The atmosphere was non-existent - there was no music, no vibe and no consistency. Why? Ash and Amanda what have you been doing? Come on WA - I know we can do better than this. Also why do you charge corkage in a restaurant that does not serve wine ($3.50 per person) and why did we get charged $14.00 for bread between four people? These questions will go unanswered as I don't think anyone can give justification for it. IS THIS THE BEST PERTH CAN DO? :: [original context]
06-05-2004 : Tash : I have been there twice and the food was excellent. Usually I have to send my fillet back two or three times, I have had it twice and never had to send it back! Well done Iain. Amanda is great to talk to. Especially finding out what teachers she had when she was at school - She went to the school I'm at now. Ash is great to the customers. They have worked hard and don't deserve to lose now. :: [original context]
06-05-2004 : Lynne Taylor : Hi Ash and Amanda, Just like to wish you luck on Sunday night, it can't be easy trying to run a business under these cercumstances. I think the program should have just announced the winner at the end of the series and then given all the other restauranteurs a chance to buy their establishments. It would have been much more fair like that. Anyway Good Luck with your futures whatever the outcome. Best Wishes Lynne Taylor :: [original context]
05-05-2004 : Rude : Brissie girl, I don't know that anyone asked you. For a team that didn't have much money in the start of the game the place has turned out great. Are you sure your name isn't natalie?? The food is amazing and the atmosphere is fantastic. Nicer than a lot of other places that I have eaten. :: [original context]
05-05-2004 : wateva : Brissie girl, if your from Brisbane then it's natural for you to vote for Brisbane but until you come to Perth and actually try the food then maybe you should shut ya cake hole! :: [original context]
03-05-2004 : Brissie Girl : Perth does not deserve to win the competition at all. It is nothing more than a catastrophic mix of outdated retro colour, pub food and pretend competition battlers. Why do you think that they have been nominated for closure.....twice! The winners deserve to be a team who can run a restaurant which provides a true restaurant dining experience with excellent food to match...go Brisbane. :: [original context]
01-05-2004 : Sal & Rich : Most down to earth food, most down to earth people - whatever happens, Ash and Amanda will soar, God bless 'em. And if you don't believe us, witness the rave review from the Sydney-centric sourpusses this week - go Perth (again!) we cry. Just wish we could get there from rural WA to actually eat the bloody food! :: [original context]
26-04-2004 : matthew : I live in Sydney and was born in Perth, Ash and Amanda deserve to win as they have shown what it takes to be a winner! Go Perth Go Perth Go Perth Go Perth :: [original context]

22-04-2004 : Ann : I reckon Perth has been the target from day one. Everybody had Ash and Amanda up against the wall and was always ready to put them down. To me the reviewer is just bias, well what does one expect when the reviewer is from the eastern states. Go Perth!!! :: [original context]
22-04-2004 : Susie : I am unable to eat at what appears to be the only decent restaurant of the five. I live in Sydney and althought my Children and I have watched the show from day one, my children were very keen to get really involved and the eldest wanted to have his birthday at the Sydney restaurant, But after last Sunday night has agreed that it would not be a good idea as we all say "GO PERTH". Ash & Amanda seem to be the most decent of all the couples and they should be the ones to walk away with the prize. Vote 6 and keep Perth alive!! as far as reading everyone elses comments on the menu and the food it sounds wounderful. :: [original context]
17-04-2004 : Helen : I have eaten there on numerous times and cant fault any of the food, love the Mahogany Creek Sticky Duck, (wish it was a main) and I have never eaten steak medium before but Just love the Tender Ridge beef. I hope Perth do win as i believe they have worked hard, as they all have, but they have wanted this so bad. as for "Just a cut above pub food" where can he get it? :: [original context]
