| 16-05-2009 : chimera : Lol... unfortunately I'm not a big fan of spicy food, thus my tolerance of spicy food is unimpressive to say the least... Butter chicken becomes the one thing I seek out at indian restaurants.... =) :: [original context] |
| 16-05-2009 : cross : Chimera I'm the biggest fan of sweet Indian curries that's why I always go Butter Chicken. Please if you get the chance try the Lamb Shahi Korma from the Turban in Melville. There Butter Chicken is a bit runny but packed full of the Tandoor rich flavour..

Maya did a great job of it but i still think "The Cove" does better. Maya was a bit overboard with there prices But there Kashmiri Naan is nothing but the best in Perth. Riata Was very overwhelming in size and beautiful taste, a good thing.Palak Paneer a bit average but all good,im not a huge fan of HOME MADE PANEER.(dirthy wash cloth taste)
?? A bit of a worry when i walked up the stairs as there were no signs of were to go for a first timer.. the best place for a work doo tho. :: [original context] |
| 15-05-2009 : Acquired : Absolutely Cross, a work doo is great at Maya. The three different banquet offerings represent great value and the wine is also very reasonably price.
I think price is reflective in the quality of the dishes. You're not getting 50% sauce 50% oil which is what i experienced recently at another Indian restaurant. Yes, this restaurant also have a Gold Plate.
Overwhelming Riata, hillarious! i imagine it arriving in a 5 litre bucket! I too love the riata, it has a lovely thick consistency with freshly cut cucumber. it's not runny and miserable like the one i had recently.
My pick.. the Goat of course! :: [original context] |

I have to say or should I say SHOUT that Maya Fremantle is the BEST Indian restaurant that I have ever been to in all of Australia. Indian is my favourite cuisine and I dine out regularly here in Perth, within Australia & overseas. We live north of the river near Joondalup and I travel there regularly. The only other Indian restaurant that I go to if I want to be a bit closer to home is GO-GO's in Mt Lawley which I rate as the second best. However what irks me at Go-Go's is how they automatically give you a large bottle of spring water which you have to pay for without even asking. Its lucky we like water and usually polish it off but I do think this practice is rude. :: [original context] |
