04-10-2005 : burchem : We went to Char Char Bull to celebrate our one year anniversary based on the excellent reviews we had read. It was therefore disappointing that the establishment did not live up to expectations. Firstly, they did not receive our on-line reservation. It took a 1/2 hour it took for a waitress to take our order, another 1/2 hour for our mains to arrive (and we only had mains). We waited 1/2 hour for the staff to remove plates on the table and ask if we wanted any dessert or coffee (which never happened), but decided that since the service was so poor, we would leave and go somewhere else. The table next to us had exceptional service. They were seated before us, left before us and had 2 serves of drinks, entree, mains and dessert and were even asked if they were enjoying their meals. Therefore, I suggest that the service is not consistent. The food was nice, nothing special. My partner had the porterhouse steak and I had the sirloin - both done medium. :: [original context]
